Pen and paper. They used to be her heart and soul
Pen and paper lie, cast aside.
Forgotten, covered in dust.
Her voice is lying there somewhere too.
Also forgotten.

There once was a time
when they were her world.
Everything would end up on that paper.
They were her heart and soul.

But now, she stares at them
and tries to remember the last time
she picked up that pen
and used that voice of hers.

Slowly, she picks up the pen
and dusts off the paper.
Her voice, though rough with lack of use
will be used.

She smiles as she remembers
how it felt to put everything
onto that paper
and promises never to forget again.
