This is a poem written for a woman's unborn child.
The miracle of life.
The glory of God.
Sharp like a knife.
What a nifty façade.
Heaven in hell.
Hell on earth.
The unknown dwell,
And complicate birth.
Face the world.
Cradle your might.
The path has curved.
Left or right?
One woman.
One choice.
Which notion?
No voice.
Dropped poise.
Can't fathom.
White noise.
Dark anthem.
Hollow sound.
Nothing left.
Senses down.
Fading cleft.
Sugar is sweet.
Blood is warm.
Callous feet.
Try to conform.
First time alarm.
Number two disarm.
Thrice a charm,
I will do you no harm.
Contrite I feel.
Guilty as charged.
No right to steal.
A felon at large.
Detach one's heart.
Mind over matter.
The hardest part?
Closing this chapter.
I lay in dismay,
Of the inner contest.
This ardent decay.
And cardiac arrest.
So rest your eyes,
And dream of life.
My dear sweet child.
I bid you goodnight.
