Grandma and Luna Have A Silly Tea Party
Silly Tea Parties

We'll have a tea party this afternoon
complete with sweet cream and cake
The heavy wicker basket will be strewn
with all the goodies that I will take

As a sweet surprise to delight her eyes
and tickle her little tooth so sweet
We'll sit and sup on cakes in cup
under big floppy hats to be discreet

I'll sit in chair for one tiny and fair
in spite of my grandmotherly girth
For no place else can quite compare
to our silly tea parties on all this earth

We entertain all her animals stuffed
of all shapes, colors, and sizes
We'll feed them till they had enough
wearing chocolate stains as their prizes

We'll dance and sing while we look for
fairies and monsters in closets hiding
Making sure they weren't mistook for
the hobby horses we were now riding

We must get back to the closet stable
Giddy-yup Sparkles! Get-get Starfairy!
All this play has made us hungry again
for shortcakes of cream and strawberry

I gently pour the tea and ask if she
would like more strawberry shortbread
I don't hear a peep for she's fallen asleep
face covered by a huge hat on her head

Why my dear Luna, you've left without
bidding your poor old grandma adeiu
I chuckle as I wipe her berried pout
tucking her in with Winnie the Pooh
