Surviving Sadness

Look and notice the silence around you
Feel the pain that is left inside
Take heart in knowing all will resolve
Take peace in knowing you tried

Don't let defeat stop your future sunrise
Don't let this failure dictate your life's lot
Once loved then lost you'll find again
That your worth will grow, but your pain will not

This moment may seem an unbearable end
For you were one then two now one again
The sadness will rise inside your soul
But with the coming spring you must leave your den

Many have felt this pain before you
And many more will see it in their path
You must show the success of life
And not give in to the desire for wrath

The world spins about you out of control
Your efforts seem thwarted before you start
The world watches cruelly your terrible pains
Every fiber of your being has been ripped apart

But remember this pain and draw strength from it
Remember the tears and wash away sorrows
It is now your task to heal your heart's wounds
It is now your task to brighten your tomorrows

It is your effort that will bring your peace of mind
It is your decisions that will see you through
