The fate of two lovers. A bit Romeo and Julietish.
Blood surging roughly,
Pulse quickly racing,
Head losing sense
Heart gaining pacing.

He was letting his heart,
Drown out his mind,
Something he could not do before,
For fear of what he'd find.

He was no longer the cynic,
He was now the dreamer,
She said she wouldn't leave,
And he had to believe her.

He knew his heart was on the line
But he did not really care,
Because he knew this was the girl,
With which life he would share.

All his faith and life,
Was in this one person,
Because when he was without her,
It all would just worsen.

He was leaving soon for battle,
The news left a burn,
She cried not to go,
He promised his return.

About a year went by,
And she felt so lonely,
"If only he was home",
Yeah, if only...

She cried and cried,
Life inside her was leaving,
But then a letter came,
To put a hold on her grieving.

"Dear loved ones,
We regret to inform,
The passing of this man,
Our condolences warm."

Enclosed in the mail,
Did a picture come,
Her love met her eyes,
Then she went numb.

Without a thought,
She grabbed the advil,
On the bottle read,
"Too much can kill."

She opened the lid,
And dumped the pills,
Into her hands,
And said her last will.

"Without you I am nothing
For you are truly my life,
I wanted nothing more,
Then to be your wife

So if not through life,
Can we be one,
Then life no more,
For I am done."

So little did she know,
He had faked his demise,
He needed his wife,
So he left his allies.

He came back home,
After a year of flying,
To an empty bottle,
And broke down crying

He was a minute too late,
As it always seems to be,
Now all he wanted,
Was to be free.

Pain and remorse,
Was all he felt,
So he grabbed the gun,
From his belt.

He placed the barrel
Against his head,
But before continuing,
He had said,

"Without you I am nothing,
For you are truly my life,
I wanted nothing more from you,
Then to be my wife.

So if not through life,
Can we be one,
Then life no more,
For I am done."

And with these words,
He sealed his eyes,
Squeezed the trigger,
And said his goodbyes.

So there they lay,
Together at last,
Covered in his blood,
And her broken glass.

But do not sob for them,
For they are together in peace,
And their undying love,
Will never cease.
