There were nine in history
Their domains are what fuses
The arts together now,
These are the nine Muses
Melpomene ruled over Tragedy
Tragic mask put into place
Polyhymnia held Hymns
Veil floating over her face
Clio's territory was History,
With many Scrolls of her own
Erato inspired Love poetry,
With her Cithara and Rose Crown
Euterpe's reign was Song,
Her flute-like Aulos would croon
Terpsichore was master of Dance,
Her Lyre creating the tune
Thalia's field was Comedy,
Under her Comic mask she'd hide
Urania's domain was Astronomy,
Globe and compass at her side
Calliope had Epic poetry,
her Writing tablet held in hand
She inspired the Odyessy,
Well-known throughout the land

These nine muses ruled the arts,
With inspiration for creative hearts,
And if their fame simply cannot be,
