Where are my dreams?

So I sit today alone
wondering where all the hope has gone.
It used to reside within my beating heart
but it seems to have left along with my dreams.
Maybe if I dreamed again
and though of a better life,
then the hope would come back.
I thought and thought
but not a single dream cloud.
I will find a dream again
Then the hope will come,
get me out the door
