The woman on the other side
Of this smudged window
Never heard the music of the fountain
Bubbling defiance at grey skies
And dark-clothed tourists frowning

I am waiting for the thunder
For the blue lightning of an angry bitch
For the rain to choose its moment
Mocking and drowning my choices
Of T-shirt and Bermuda shorts

Bird song in the trees
It's Summertime after all
A pretty woman smiles
Like smooth silk on hungry skin
Then curves into memory
