A poem about people that don't read books since they are entertained with the media.
Intellectual Suicide

The media exposes us to pure trash;
escapism by providing venomous,
brainwashing techniques that wash
the mind of reality with, ludicrous
distortions of half-truths that bash
the realities of our true subconscious

Corporations that fund the networks,
tell us one day it is okay to be fat
the next; the purple pill in the works,
just may kill us; but we doubt that
because they’ve exploited our mind,
they’ve gotten in our brain; it’s a fact

Our brains are taxed; without an agenda,
easier to turn to TV or the tabloids we read
see commercials and political propaganda,
addicted to cheap entertainment we need.
