Welcoming my inner child home
Welcome home my friend
You’ve hidden in my psyche
For so long

I know that you stayed
Where it was safe
Although it was never quiet

Now and then
You’d wake up
To tell me your stories

I looked forward
To those moments
Though you never stay for long

Now that you’ve returned
Please don’t hide again
It is safe to speak now
