Welcome to my blog: I intend to share heartfelt writing about anything that comes to mind. |
What smell or sounds brings back great memories of your childhood? The smell of biscuits cooking in the oven brings back some good childhood memories. My dad loved biscuits and gravy for breakfast. So many times, I can remember waking up to mom pounding a can of biscuits on the door of the kitchen to open them. A few minutes later I could smell them cooking. I could hear the coffee pot whistling and mom stirring gravy in her cast iron skillet. She made her own gravy from scratch. I enjoyed eating biscuits and gravy with my dad in the mornings. ————————————————————————-———————— This is the link to the group I do these Scripture writings with on Facebook if anyone else is interested in doing so also. https://www.facebook.com/groups/dailyscripturewritingplan/?ref=share Scripture writing - 1 John 3:7-10 Scripture: 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. Observations: Verse 7- The person that lives righteously is righteous. Verse 8- The person that willfully sins is unrighteous. God destroys the work of the devil through Jesus Christ. Verse -9 If you are born of God, you put sin out of your life because God is in you. Verse 10- This is how we know the difference between the children of God and the children of the devil. Application: You must not only repent of your sins to be saved, you must turn from them too. This can get confusing for some people. We aren’t saved by our works, but I still have to change my behavior or I am destined for Hell? What? Your actions tell what you really believe in your heart. If you were forgiven a $10,000 debt, would you not want to change your behavior so you didn't run that debt up again? The wages of sin is death. If I am forgiven of something worthy of death, do I want to continue the behavior that will cause me to face the death penalty again? Do I not want to do what the person who saved my life asked me to do? This is how it is with Salvation. Prayer: Dear God, May people come into a relationship with you through my writing. May they develop a better relationship with you if they already have one. May my words be educational and edifying. May people’s eyes be open to the truth.
