A poem a day for the month of April, National Poetry Writing Month |
| Two by Two Way back in time, just a century or more after our planet was born, human behavior caused God to worry. To wash away the mess they made He chose to flood the land, their wicked ways were weighed. He picked one good man and his clan to save, along with His creation. He said, "Build an Ark, that's the plan." Once the boat was ready to float, all earthly creatures were summoned, a male and female of each, He wrote. Two by two, in pairs they came aboard, birds, slithering reptiles, creepy spiders, felines, bovines, all manner of the mammal hoard. 40 days, 40 nights, water rose higher and higher. The pairs bobbed along, saved from drowning. Now we've been warned, next time, fire. ~~Judi Van Gorder Notes ▶︎ |
