Validation
"Note: 48-HOUR CHALLENGE : Media Prompt Deadl..."

We're human. That is, we are social animals. Which means we need validation from our fellow humans.

One of the many 'validations' is that of romantic love. Songs, poems, movies, plays, monologues, prose pieces extol the experience of falling in love, being in love, staying in love. In love, romantically, with someone else. They even go so far as to say 'you're nobody till somebody loves you." (Again - they mean romantically loves you.)

It that's true, then I'm nobody.

God's love, my Dad's love, the love of my uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends ... doesn't count for anything. Apparently, I'm nobody because I don't have that ONE supreme relationship - that of a partner whom I can kiss on the lips.

I won't deny it, I did crave that love. Still do in fact, but not as intensely. I no longer need it to validate myself. Those other types of love are enough for me. and my love for myself.

In response to those who say you need a romantic partner to be validated, here is what I say:
