Through the eyes of a writer and traveler ๐! Life and some spiritual musings. |
Hi, y'all. Tonight's post will be a short one. Personally, I'm feeling overwhelmed by the way someone is being after knowing them 50 years. While the world is having a meltdown over who won or didn't. I was going to join a conversation on the WDC wall, but by the time I got back ( now) I'm drained. I found a FB post that I was going to share also in the hope of making a bridge ๐ between people. The biggest communication problem we do not listen ๐ to understand. We listen to reply. Stephen R Covey I think ๐ฌ that's very true much of the time for many. More eager to reply then hear. We heard from an old friend and our granddaughter about the voting results this morning and afternoon. He's in his 70's and said " his freedom is over and hope's he won't lose his SSI." She wrote him not to worry about things that won't happen. Our granddaughter was afraid to go do her errands and take her Social studies GED class tomorrow, because she heard " people are going to be freaking out in the streets". We assured her nothing was going to happen,it was just stories that were made up. My other friend of 50 years posted how depressed she is and full of grief over the election. I've emailed her 2 x this week and commented but heard nothing back. I think it's because I'm not bummed out about it. I didn't post I'm with her or him since everyone started. It's to me just hype. And people of different faiths and backgrounds in many states showed they were not happy with the last four years period. I respect their rights to be bummed out but it's not going to change the high price of food or make my reality any better. If she got in it would be the same as above. Like him or not he's a very rich business man and politicians have dropped the ball ๐๐ for years. 3000 more men are about to cross the border soon. I don't know these people ( does anyone?) My great grandparents came to this country from Poland and stayed at Ellis island. Tested for TB and waited to be allowed into America as many were. They weren't giving gift cards or any help. They got jobs and slept many to cramped tenements . They didn't bully their way in. The immigrants who live here ( some for many years) did it the proper way. Many didn't support others taking a short cut and voted for border protection. There's town's ( one in Ohio Lakeland) population around 3000. They have had people come from Africa for decades. This past year 3000 came to their Village, don't speak English or know how to use a stove. They hang around the town and can't work. The government is paying for them to live in apartments. The mayor is asking for help and this scene is being played out all over the country. Is that right? Everyone should get a chance,if they play by the rules. We who live here have to. Have a blessed night |
