Okay, Lyn has organized another virtual tour. Woohoo! |
| Yes, yes, I have skipped ahead, I admit it. In the real world I spent three weeks away from home touring Newfoundland only to hurry home for a family wedding. It's been a whirlwind and I just don't have the energy for much more travel, virtual or otherwise. Okay, even though I have mentioned in past blogs that I have not perched atop the ol' bicycle saddle since I was sixteen, I convinced myself I could not pass up this opportunity to pedal one again. Why not mount up? I love this entire virtual reality thing. Clumsiness is not an issue in this world and no one ever wobbles along on a bike, right? There will not be the possibility of a crash, hmmm? Swooping along the Kingdom Trail with my hair streaming behind me, 'cause I'm old school and eschew a helmet, I realized something. I miss this. There's a freedom aboard a bicycle. All that gorgeous greenery waving in the sunlight created the perfect ambiance. Not so much as a single branch deigned to knock me from my seat. All the dips, turns and hills failed to slow me down. I've forgotten that slow motion tumbling and the blur of blue and green that accompanied too many of my past forays. For once, gravity did not attempt to claim me. Woohoo. I pedaled and glided. Even the sight of Witchy Yule Woman |
