Overthinking
Overthinking
Well life can be likened to a chess game sometimes. If I move this piece, then I must check the pieces remaining on the board and see if a capture is possible. For life, if I go to the store will I get what I want, or pay more or even get my purse snatched because the mall has been plagued by violent criminals. Rained on by an unexpected shower. Or Forget to fill my gas tank and run out of gas. Any one of these three scenarios are not pleasant.
But do I overthink? Probably not.
Have I regretted not thinking in advanced? Not really. My life can be boring at times.
But If I have a busy schedule, like I did before retirement, I have regretted not thinking ahead.
I used to play chess. It was fun until my brother taught me to think ahead before I moved a piece. We split 50-50 in wins. But he was still a very good player.
My advice is to think ahead. Remember the Boy/Girl Scout motto to 'be prepared.' And try to think ahead 1 to 2 steps. It might save you a little anguish or it may give you a headache. Which one do you want?
