| To my British Friends --- maybe you can help me. You may think the following is me dressed up at Halloween:  But Alas, it is NOT. A co-worker at work found it a year or two ago and honestly thought it was me when I was a tad younger and he knew I was in the Army and assumed it was me. It's not. I have no idea who this girl is. But she's got my genes!!  I have identified the photo as a British World War II Dispatch Rider. 23 and me tells me I'm 3.2 English from Greater London! I can only figure the British in me comes from my Grandmother, who got it from her father (as I was able to trace her mother's line to a German lineage). But I know nothing of my Grandmother's father would have lived in the early 1900's. Maybe he had a brother or a sister still in England? Maybe you can expand on British Dispatch drivers in World War II? Maybe something in the background of the photo catches your eye? Appreciate you all taking a look! Smiles Steph |
