Blog of a newbie writer and her adventures with Sir Cursorlot - my cursor friend and foe. |
| Ok, so where did January go? Already we are about to enter another month of 2026 and I haven't even caught up to the fact that 2025 is over and done with. However the routine of "normal life" has finally returned. Hubby is back at school, I am back at Guide Dogs and our own dogs are getting back to accepting that Mum and Dad are not going to be with us everyday once again. It's amazing how routine sits with people and quite frankly, my dogs. My dogs, particularly my boy Rowan, loves and thrives on routine. When routine changes, his composure slips a little. The cool cat becomes slightly unhinged, but thankfully not to his detriment. I am sure a lot of pet owners out there can relate. But so too do I like routine, even if I will deny it. For example, now that hubby is back at work, I can finally return to times when I can concentrate on my writing. I can return to my routine once he is out of the house and it seems to settle something inside of me that I don't really notice until I do. Temper becomes shorter, my OCD kicks in more when he is at home and my cleaning schedule is interrupted. And for some reason I expect he knows what I'm thinking and that I shouldn't have to explain what I want to be happening next. Routine is returning and with it a strange sense of relief, even though I am not quite sure that's the right word for what I am trying to convey. But here comes February, ready or not. Strap in and see what it brings. Let's Go!!! |
