The Blogville Doldrums
It was halfway finished with my entry for tomorrow (it’s a good one, too, if'n you don’t mind me sayin’), but then I received an email from C.L. Hanna ~ *Writer For Hire* Author Icon that indicated to me she might be leaving. Sure enough, her blog confirmed it. She’s not the only one, either.

In all honesty I’ve considered the same, especially since my membership expires May 15. It’s not that I want to leave the people here, that’s the top reason for me to stay. What clinched it, though, is "God's Way GroupOpen in new Window.. I may have created it, but it doesn’t belong to me. It belongs to the members. Though participation is down, I feel it needs to remain available. Closing it down would effect too many, and I can’t do that.

Based on what others have written in their blogs recently, and I’m sure mine as well, Blogville has changed. It’s like all the streetlights have gone dark and not even the moon wants to make an appearance. It doesn’t feel as welcoming and vibrant as it once did. There’s more fighting – both subtle and overt, hiding, silence, moving away, and how long has it been since we had a group story going on everyone can participate in?

I haven’t been around enough myself to even imagine a cause, or a cure.

I offer only a prayer that these doldrums won’t last and Blogville once again thrives. I want to be able to look forward to coming here again, and I know you do as well.
