Killing Slowly For The Sun
11/28/02
The charging winds won't bring you closer to me.
In November they fail to keep me as warm
as I would be by your side.
I swear I miss you more,
or at least as much as the heat of August
and if I could bring you snow
I'd do it in the most polite way that I could.
When I depart from here with you in my heart,
I'll keep the snow in check just so I don't forget
where I came from on the way to you
and the sunshine you send me everyday
when I think about the notes you send.
We may want to see something different,
knowing we feel there're better places
than where we both are.
I'm bored with snow and you're bored with sun.
But I know the minute
we both look in each others' eyes,
there's no place else we'd rather call "home."
I'll take the snow, you'll take the sun
or maybe we'll just take each other
and hide away
where we don't know if it's day or night
because they don't call blankets on beds
"covers" for no reason at all.
