My first blog attempt - don't laugh. Unless it's funny, then please, please laugh! |
Prompt: Tell us your deepest darkest secret. Mix in 3 or so LIES. Ask your readers to pick "true or false" in comments. It's up to you to tell them if they pick right! (of course, it doesn't have to be your deepest, darkest, dirtiest secret. Something's you can leave for yourself!) I am 67 years old, and although some people would be hesitant to state their age so blatantly, I am proud of it. I like to say that I love my age. Do you have any idea how long it took me to get here? Well, about 67 years, of course, but it's been a wonderfully busy time. To tell you about myself, I'd have to swear you to secrecy. But, if you swore to keep quiet about me, I would tell you that when I was 12 years old I wrote to the CIA and offered my services to them as a spy. I told them that because I was bilingual, and able to blend into a crowd, I would be a brilliant spy. The fact that I was just a child would only help disguise me. I received a polite letter of rejection couched in encouragement, study political science and economics, they told me, and I swore that I would. I thought it ended there, but on a visit to South America with my father, a low level diplomat, I was contacted by the agency. The rest is not at all history, for it isn't written anywhere. Who would ever put it in writing that they used a child on a mission? In all honesty, it wasn't dramatic, or in the path of danger, but a distraction here, a decoy there, and I was actually a spy for a short time. After I started college and began taking the proscribed political science and economics classes I realized that I really wanted a normal life, not a weird half-life. I majored in Ornithology. and gave up on the spy life. Let me know what you believe to be true, and what is false! |
