Summer Swelter

The end of June has arrived too soon,
summer sun has me sweating by noon.
There is no breeze but buzzing bumblebees
and butterflies ease my sunstroke swoon.

The seashore offers a cool respite
and foamy surf rushes to summit
upon the sand. It flows over my toes,
the cooling grows cleansing my spirit.
