Summer Squalls
When summer squalls appear in our day,
we seize upon the chance to sashay
and splash around in those muddy puddles
beneath the imposing clouds of gray.
We sing and dance in refreshing rain,
hither and yon, up and down the lane,
imparting tons of sunshine to our hearts,
so ev'ryone thinks we are insane.
Number of Lines: Minimum 4 lines, Maximum is poet's choice in increments of four.
Rules:
A stanza of four lines. Lines 1,2 and 4 are nine syllables long and share the same rhyme.
Line 3 is 10 syllables long and has an internal rhyme scheme similar to a Toddaid.
