Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs "Prompt: January 18 is Thesaurus Day . Pick out an object and describe it with words form the thesaurus ."

This sounds like an interesting prompt but I have some issues with it. My biggest issue is that I have no thesaurus. I had my skull fractured as a child. Like she usually does when nature takes a skill away she gave me something to replace it. She took away my ability to do complex multitasking jobs as a result of the brain injury. However she replaced that ability with an immaculate understanding for words and an uncanny vocabulary. Words that many people only use in documents I use routinely. My family often referred to me as "brain" due to my ability to use words they did not understand. I have learned to 'dummy down' over the years. I guess you could say I am a walking thesaurus. I also own no thesaurus so even if I had a desire to write out their meaning for a word I could not do so. Besides a thesaurus does not give definitions. It only gives you alternative words. For example you may be looking for a word similar to "rocket". The thesaurus may list "missile" "self-propelled projectile" and other such words, but it would not define them. For definitions try "National dictionary day."

Blog City image small Prompt "Re-write your favorite fairy tale."

I'm so sorry but my muse went on strike. No. I actually do have a poem I think will work. I wrote it for a contest.
