Act Of Kindness

Prompt: An act of kindness.

I drove a minister home to town who lived a mile away and he had just bought ice cream and it was summer time. He paid me a dollar to do so but I didn't want it. I accepted it. I once helped a woman return a vacuum cleaner at Kmart. She had her wallet stolen no ID and they told her to find someone who had an ID and they would refund her money. I did. She gave me 20 dollars. I told her it wasn't necessary but she insisted.

At work. I worked with the mentally ill and let them get away with little things. I caught the one patient smoking in the TV Room and if I told on her, she would lose her pass to spend Thanksgiving with her grandmother. She cried. I made her promise to never do it again. I wouldn't tell on her. I kept my promise and she got to be with her grandmother. I loved her and didn't have the heart to tell on her.

I have always tried to help people as I go through life. I do acts of kindness.
