It has Been A Lousy New Year So Far

Guess what happened to me yesterday at work? No, I didn’t have to write up another Incident Report. It’s worse than that. I had to work at my old post again. Why did I have to do that? It’s because someone called in to say they couldn’t come in because of the big snowstorm that hit us yesterday.

I can’t get off because of bad weather. In fact, I can’t get off for anything. Even if I was on my death bed, I would still have to go to work. But everyone else can get off any time that they want for any reason. I think that I know who got off yesterday. But I don’t know for sure.

Whoever it was I still had to work at my old post yesterday at work. That’s why I didn’t get any writing done on my Water Wars scriptwriting project. I didn’t even try. I probably could have if I felt like doing it. But I didn’t. Not after what they did to me.

It wasn’t just that I had to work at my old post at work yesterday. I didn’t know about it until I went in to work at my normal post. Which wasn’t normal yesterday. They could have told me long before that. After all, I was there a half-hour early because of the snowstorm.

That’s why I was so mad that I didn’t feel like doing any writing. It wasn’t because it was too busy to do it at work yesterday. True, I don’t know if it was the snowstorm, it being the first of January or both. But it wasn’t very busy at all yesterday at work.

Don’t get me wrong. It did get a little busy at that post. But not as bad as it usually is on a Friday. In fact, it was about five percent as busy as it usually is. If it’s not even a little bit lower than that. That’s how dead it was at work yesterday.

Today I’m supposed to be returning to my normal post. At least I think that I am. After yesterday, I’m not counting on anything until it happens. If I do, I’m hoping to get a lot of writing done on the second episode of this project. Of course, that all depends on how busy it gets there.

It’s a Saturday. And it’s usually isn’t very busy on a Saturday. But it is still that time of year when it may be busy. Yesterday was also a holiday. Today may be considered a Friday instead of a Saturday like last Saturday. If that’s true, I may be lucky to get ten single paragraphs written.

Then again, I may be able to get about fifteen done instead. After all, I did it on Thursday. So, there is no reason why I can’t do it again today. Even if it is Friday. whether it’s a Friday or a Saturday, it all depends on how busy it gets at work today. And which post I am at.
