The history of Prosperous Snow written for the group Reminiscences |
The First Time Salvation Came To Me I was a child, the first time salvation came to me! Virginal, untested, marked only by original sin, no action to condemn me, except my parents copulation at my conception. When salvation came the pews were hard, uncomfortable. and straight backed wooden benches. The organist played "Just As I Am", and I marched to the front of the sanctuary of the Southern Baptist Mission in Blackwell, Oklahoma. At my baptism, I remember almost drowning when the preacher dunked me under the water in the baptismal pool. The Second Time Salvation Came To Me I was an adult, the second time salvation came to me! My soul was marked by the sins of the world, and I was seeking the answer to two dreams about the Return of Christ. When salvation came I was setting on a comfortable couch in the living room of a friend, and I was participating in a discussion about Baha'u'llah and the Baha'i Faith. I knew when I heard a prayer read-- that was revealed by Baha'u'llah-- that I had found my answer and my soul's desire. I signed my declaration card that night, because I realized that Baha'u'llah reflected the same Holy Spirit that was reflected by Christ. Poet's Note: ▼ |
