A terminal for all blogs coming in or going out. A view into my life. |
Robert wrote about Neandertals so I responded: "Although ethnicity attributed by DNA has issues... big issues... the DNA research is showing how interrelated we humans are. People always got around and got along... or didn't. And if we share DNA with Neandertals... so be it. 1. Those who think they are racially pure ... aren't. 2. White folks who think the "whiteness" will be wiped out should study the migration of seafaring folks like the Vikings, Phoenecians, Omani, Malay, Polynesians... their 'blood' is spread everywhere! If your family comes from coastal Africa you probably have Portuguese, Arab or Malay DNA... that's how it works. It wasn't wiped out. "Whiteness" won't [be] either. So modern humans have Neandertal (East Asia, Europe) and Denisovan (highest in Papuans and Melanesians) DNA. We shouldn't worry so much about whether we have 'alien' DNA either... or for that matter our close cousins... chimpanzees." Posted another poll earlier.
55 degrees at midnight. Yes, I slept; although, I cannot say how well. I didn't wake up as early as yesterday but yesterday... made the mistake of lying back down after an hour. I'm really trying to stay vertical with a coffee. Had a peanut-butter sandwich for breakfast. 56 degrees at 9:42 am. To Hooves: "I'm still not convinced that it [covid] came from bats. Glad that they are looking into it. I'm sure that China keeps its secrets, so does the CIA and FBI. Transparency isn't their strong point. Regardless of how it happened, there is the importance of the response. Everyone made mistakes on that one. Blaming everyone who looks like they are Chinese was a shameful response in the USA. Trump was right to push the vaccine, but he was wrong about not listening to experts about mitigation and then again in abandoning any leadership once he lost the election. As in ... HE LOST THE ELECTION. His narcissism got in the way. Easy to blame bats. Easy to blame a group of people by demeaning them. Media? The American public demands sound bites and immediate satisfaction. The media caters to the craving for drama. They have become more National Enquirer than National Geographic. It's one reason why a game-show host became president and why he still commands the stage. No one wants to be lied to? I humbly disagree. As a culture we prefer comfortable lies to uncomfortable truth because we can't sift out lies from truths. We are a Comfort Culture... not a truthful one." 71 degrees at 6:32. We had a few sprinkles. I'm doing the Bard's Hall Challenge. I need 10 blogs. So far: 1st. I watched the sunset and the midges, wrote another serenade. I'm eating macaroni and cheese. 4.529 |
