Remembering January 6th.
On January 6, 2021 I turned on ABC because I wanted to see how the official transfer of power, no matter how boring, was done in DC. I got more than I expected. There was the lead up to the Congressional Session while the present president was speaking at a rally denouncing the election that had denied him a second term. They reminded me of a 'football rally' until the rally marched on the unprepared Capitol building. Then it got feisty outside while the proceedings inside went forward. Then...

it seemed surreal. The last attack on the seat of US government was 1814. This is what will be remembered in a couple days. This is why a committee is investigating it. I watched for hours until the votes were safely countd and VP Pence accepted the results. The video above is less than 6 minutes long. The following 11 hour CBS is tagged as "possibly offensive" on Youtube. How offensive was it considered when it was broadcast live?

The only written work that comes to mind is H.G. Well's "War of the Worlds" and the tension of real time was best filmed in the movie "High Noon" and portrayed in the short story "The Story of an Hour" written by Kate Chopin in 1894. Has anyone here written anything as 'devastating'?
