In Praise of the Mutter

The mutter is a wondrous thing
It allows my heart to dance and sing
It gives to me the nerve to say
Just what I want without repay
Beneath my breath I let thoughts loose
And never fear return abuse
No matter how you beg and plead
I’ll never admit to what I said.
