Secondhand Thoughts
In my youth I invented many things,
only to find, in later research,
that someone else got there before me.
Now I read, last in the list, thoughts in a cat scan,
an aging mind churning with bodily decay,
leaving muddy footprints through my territory,
when I thought geriatric ponderings mine alone.
Ah well, at least it proves it works.
