A poem a day for the month of April, National Poetry Writing Month |
| I Am St. Pat, Bay Mare Spurred by the power and speed of my white socked limbs I joyfully gallop around the pasture this green spring day. The sun reflects off my red coat, while I toss my jet-black mane and tail to share my beauty with all who will stare. Soon my lady will call and she will rub my muzzle and withers with loving hands. I lower my head and nuzzle in reciprocation. As one, we have travailed trail rides, wilderness treks, show rings, and even color guard at the Grand National Rodeo. But best of all bareback we fly in the field. ~~Judi Van Gorder Notes: ▶︎ |
