First prompt:
Have you ever gotten tipsy, inebriated, or drunk? If you remember what happened, tells us about it. If you don't remember, make something up. If you never were, explain why you shouldn't be banned from the Banana Bar.

Before I quit for good, I used to drink. A little red wine is good for your heart, they say. A glass or two is good. Then a bottle or two is great, then a box or two is gone before you know it.

So one year I went to the Christmas Stroll in town. It was fun. My significant other didn’t want to go. So I was on my own. I bought some gifts. But I really wanted to go because there was alcohol. Free alcohol. Mulled wine at one store. Free white wine at another. The community center was open with craft vendors. They had an open bar. Free drinks! Give me a glass of red wine please. I strolled by them again. Another glass please, I asked another person.

About an hour later, I stumbled home. Hubby was already asleep. Fine. But dog needs a walk, so we head out. I stumble along, dog does her duty. Then I make the decision to walk down by the river.

So what happens when you drink too much, and then take the dog on a walk in the dark? You fall down. You fall down a lot. Scraped knees, a scraped elbow.

“Are you alright?” A good samaritan finds me along the path and helps me up.

“Oh, I’m just fine. Just walkin’ the dog!” I sound way too cheery, I think, what the with bloody knees and a bloody elbow. But the alcohol breath probably gives me away.

“Are you sure? I can walk you home.”

“Nope. I’m fine. Thanks.” Off I teeter on the short walk home to fall into bed.

The next day I had to explain what happened and swear off alcohol, forever. Sorry Andre. I made a vow to my husband I wouldn’t drink anymore.

Until that time...
