| There’s lots who say it was a mass hallucination, or a story concocted to scare the townsfolk of Ipswich into church on a Sunday morning. But I know it all happened. I was here. The Reverend Whitfield, he did preach a fiery sermon. It riled up the evil spirits until they manifested and it became an actual physical fight between them. Whitfield was strong and unyielding. He struggled with evil and chased it to the top of the steeple, then threw it from the tower. There’s the mark seared into the rock. It’s real. I know, because that’s my footprint.
