The Candidates

Ten candidates trying-out to be the new baby for the Andersons stood before the bosses.

“You have red hair and blue eyes. You’re a no. Next!”

The line shuffled to the next candidate.

“Hmm. Taller than desired, but those eyes. Stand over there.” The person stood along with three others with green eyes.

Next in line stepped up.

“Freckles?”

The moderator checked the list, conferred with other bosses. ‘Freckles mentioned anywhere?’

‘Freckles aren't listed, boss.’

“Sorry, freckles aren’t on the list.”

The candidate spoke up, “Look back about five generations.”

The moderators did their research.

“Alright, for now. Next!”
