7 of the 12 Days of Christmas -Deck the Halls

Who doesn't like the frivolity and gaiety of getting the house all "decked out" for Christmas...the tree, the boughs of pine, the candles - there's nothing like it. Dressing up in our winter gear, and going out to sing Christmas carols at the mall, or around the neighborhood. Christmas is still a family affair, whether when I was young, or with my own children and grandchildren

"Deck the Halls" (originally titled "Deck the Hall") is a traditional Christmas carol. The melody is Welsh, dating back to the sixteenth century, and belongs to a winter carol, "Nos Galan", while the English lyrics, written by the Scottish musician Thomas Oliphant, date to 1862.
