A poem a day for the month of April, National Poetry Writing Month |
| Coming of Age I know you are expecting an image of youthful transition projecting into enlightened adulthood. But that is long past for me. I'm more familiar with the more currently official cross over from aging to very OLD. You think you know, heard jokes, have been told, and observed your elders, but no warning can prepare you for the perpetual ache in your joints, thinning hair, the short-term forgetfulness, recalling things long past, and an ever-increasing awareness that the future is no longer vast. ~~Judi Van Gorder Notes ▶︎ |
