Not an Inch

Pigheaded when your heels dig in,
obstinate if you deign not to yield,
stubborn you’re named for baulkin’
and willful if your rights you wield.

Mulish too is what you’re called,
unbending to the rule you hear,
inflexible when in court you’re hauled,
though to the truth you persevere.
