I have realized long ago that things work well with calmness, be it writing an exam or dealing with people in daily life in general. My father used to tell me often, whatever be the circumstances, "be normal," which is his way of saying “be calm”. How true! Calmness can save health and grant us happiness. Right from the moment we get up in the morning till the time we go to bed, our performance fares better, if we think before acting, we achieve cent percent success and satisfaction. Calmness leads to wellness. As an ordinary human being, it is difficult not to react with excitement, anger or indifference to situations in life. However, I found out by experience that if I stay calm, first consciously and then spontaneously, things turn out to be pleasant for all concerned. Patience and calmness seem to go hand in hand. How do we achieve calmness? Calmness under pressure is said to be cultivated with meditation. Our mind is ever agitated with thoughts, like a pond with ripples. If during meditation, we learn to concentrate on one thing we love, we experience calmness descending on us. I would love to practice calmness via meditation.
