The Bloody Brilliant Book
While the village had most of it's needs met such as plenty of game, fresh water, logs & sons learning their father's craft. The girls spun flax into wool and mended garments. However, none of the residents was a learned individual. In the late evenings when the chores were done, the Golden Dragon would swoop down and gather the children and adults alike to teach from the magic book. Every evening the book spoke of a different topic. From stars to maps to arithmetic to the use of alloys to make stronger metal. In this way the village was kept educated despite it's isolation.
