Apple

Eve's apple
was likely a pomegranate
juicy, fleshy, seedy
but patriarchy wrote this story
for it's own benefit.
Lilith was Adam's first wife
but too fierce and defiant
men made her into a demon.
I like to imagine
Lilith and Eve
hand in hand
crude, curious, impudent
pomegranate juice
dripping down their faces,
no mealy, wormy apple
for them.
