Killing a Dog Petrarchan Writing Com The governor killing her puppy dog The news is so shocking, It got everybody talking. She announced it on a blog. Saying she killed her hunting dog. While out hunting and walking, And stalking pheasants Her puppy acting like a coy dog. Her actions were so evil, That even President Trump denounced it Her actions caused a political upheaval. No one would vote to acquit. She was seen as so medieval. And denounced as a dog-hating hypocrite. In the court of public opinion, no reprieval. Poetry Form: Petrarchan The Petrarchan sonnet, perfected by the Italian poet Petrarch, divides the 14 lines into two sections: an eight-line stanza (octave) rhyming ABBAABBA, and a six-line stanza (sestet) rhyming CDCDCD or CDECDE. |
