Kris does not want to grow up to be a guardian for the Zaume. She doesn’t know what she does want, but is sure it's not that.

The attack on the Zaume and capture of Kris and Tee.

Kris is wanted for the slaughter of the Zaume.

Kris must learn to survive on her own.

Kris is recaptured and forced into slavery.

Kris is semi-rescued by DuraH...

DuraH has bad reputation as the child of a traitor.

Kris goes in search of her mother, Tee.

Kris finds out her mother has been taken off world.

Kris goes back to DuraH and finds out his ship needs repairs.

Kris runs The Gauntlet to secure funds to fix DuraH’s ship.

Kris collects her winnings and disappears.

Climax scene in the Cafe

DuraH and Kris blast off in search of her mother and to clear both their names.
