Sort of a Cold Turkey

I’m sure this is a new record for me. Unfortunately, it can at a cost. I wrote forty-four paragraphs today while at work. But about half of them were because of a Cold Turkey. It’s not that I wanted to go Cold Turkey today. I didn’t have too much of a choice in doing it.

For some reason, the television episodes I downloaded to watch didn’t download. As a result, about halfway through my shift, I didn’t have anything to watch. I had nothing else to do but write. That’s good for my Second Episode Scene Outline, but not for my boredom.

Luckily, I didn’t have any problem with boredom. That’s what can put a Security Officer to sleep if they don’t have anything to do. That is what I faced last night during my shift. If I didn’t have my writing to do, I would probably have fallen asleep last night.

If I was lucky, I would probably have dozed a little bit last night instead of falling asleep. No one showed up who may have seen me do this. But I am being watched by a camera. So, they would have seen me whether I was dozing or asleep. Either way, I would have lost this job already.

That’s why I always say that I need something to keep me busy. Especially, if I work the graveyard shift. I prefer to stay busy with my writing. But watching television and movies on my cell phone or preferably a tablet is even better at keeping me awake during my shift at work.

Hopefully, this won’t happen again. Especially tomorrow night. After all, tomorrow night is a twelve-hour shift. I don’t think I would have a problem if I couldn’t watch any television or movie tomorrow. But I don’t want to take that chance. Hopefully, I won’t need to take that chance.

Out of the forty-four paragraphs I wrote for my Episode Two Scene Outline for my Water Wars scriptwriting project, thirty of them started and ended the Teaser Act for this episode. Ten more numeric scenes started Act One of this project. And four of them were Establishing Shots.

Of course, I would like to write forty-four episodes tomorrow for this project. But I don’t want to do it for the same reason I did it today. I don’t think that will happen, but I don’t think it will be because of the same reason it is today.

I’m hoping to get about twenty-five to thirty paragraphs written tomorrow. After all, it is a twelve-hour shift. But it could be twenty to twenty-five. That’s not as good as today. I don’t want it to be as good as today though unless it’s because of how I’m staying awake.

I need twenty paragraphs to finish writing Act One of my Episode Two Scene Outline. I should get that many written in a twelve-hour shift. If I can start Act Two tomorrow, I will also have two Establishing Shots to go along with the twenty numeric paragraphs.
