Does The Lord Really Care?
Sometimes, when in pain from too much to do,
we ask, if the Lord really cares.
Are all of our hopes little mists or quite true
when facing a window with stares?
Sometimes, when the dreams of our nights fill with fear,
does He care that we really need peace?
Is there safety in Him? Will the storm fin'lly clear?
Will the tempter's rough whispers, then cease?
Sometimes, as we wait for the Bridegroom to come,
we wonder if something believed
was only a hope or merely the sum
of placates we used, that relieved.
But if He is God, then truly He cares
no matter what earth things we face.
The burdens we feel He lastingly bears,
though sometimes no features we trace.
Is God yet a man, that He should now lie?
Will ever He change His strong Mind?
Has He spoken once as only a try?
His Justice will never go blind!
Does God really care when sometimes our faith
is bloodied and crying in vain?
Is He not the Lord, though me but a waif?
His Word says that He'll come again.
Does God really care when we agonize sore?
Can He know what we face, today?
When we pray 'til we sweat, can he yet ignore
His chosen, who try to obey?
We know that He cares for little is much,
as the seed of the mustard is faith.
Just rest in His Truth. Each heart He will touch.
When this day has its end, we'll be safe.
"God is not a man, that he should lie;
neither the son of man, that he should repent:
hath he said, and shall he not do it?
or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"
(Numbers 23:19, KJV)
