Lucky In Love But Not Cards Many people Over the centuries Have said That one can Be lucky at cards But not lucky in love Or lucky in love But not in cards. But never lucky In cards And lucky in love. That to me Has the ring Of truth. For I have never Been that lucky In cards, casino games And poker games. Almost always lose a bit Sometimes more than a bit Once in a blue moon I win a bit. But love Well in that regard I am the luckiest man in the universe for one day I had a dream and knew That some day I would meet This mysterious woman Who came to me One day in a dream She haunted my dreams I went to Korea Going to the Peace Corps To meet her I was about to give up When she told me, We would meet soon And she walked Into my life. Six weeks later Became my wife. 43 years later We are still here Along the way We tried our luck At casinos And occasional poker games. And finally realized That we were not Meant to be high rollers Just not fun anymore. But I still have her And know that I have Won the game of love And that matters A lot more Than winning Casino games.
