Finding Happiness in Small Things


Koreans
Have an expression

“So So Hang”

"Finding happiness
In small things"

From the beginning
Of my 43-year-long
Love affair with
My Korean-born wife.

I have found happiness
With her in small things
The so-called “So So Hang”

When I have insomnia
And look at her
And feel a sense of peace
Dispelling my nightmares.

In the morning
When she wakes up
And greets me
With a hug and a smile.

When we go
For a walk
In the neighborhood.

When she and I talk
Endlessly
About everything
And nothing.

Those are some
Of the many
Every day

Tiny things,
small things
That adds up.

Making the fabric.
Of our love complete.
