| The original poster wanted to know about hot springs in an area that doesn't have any. I replied to an earlier reply: "If I may whine for a second... when I go to a place, I look around to see what's available. I don't demand Thai food in Italy (I love kao pad) or snow in Costa Rica (I know where there's a hot spring though). I look around... and take advantage of what a region has to offer. That said... it doesn't hurt to ask... as long as "no" is an acceptable answer. Unfortunately, I read too many insane comments from [entitled] expats in Pattaya. Udon Thani has great respectable massages across from Nong Prajak. It has good markets, good transportation connections, a vibrant city vibe. There's always something going on. Nong Khai is close and has a wonderful German bakery and the views along the Mekong promenade are great as well. But, alack, no hot springs. Non-stop round trip UTH-CNX is as low as 3,000 baht [$104]." The original poster posted in German... the short answer is "no". 10.523 |
