:: Stay Logged Into Writing.Com Longer! ::
Having to log into Writing.Com daily can be tedious. To alleviate this task, we've
added a new account preference: Keep Cookie. A cookie is a small piece of
information that is placed on your computer by a website. In this case, the
information is your secure, encrypted password and the website is Writing.Com.

By default, a member's computer will only keep the cookie for 1 day. This new
setting will allow your account to stay logged into Writing.Com for longer periods
of time, such as 7 days, 15 days... all the way up to 60 days.

While this setting adds convenience, it can compromise your account's security.
If you use a public computer, changing this setting is not advisable! Using the
"Logout" link anywhere with Writing.Com automatically clears your cookie and
logs you out of Writing.Com, regardless of this setting.

To set this new preference, head to the My Account page then click to Change
Preferences. From there, the setting is called Keep Cookie.

:: Writing.Com Saves The Day Writing! ::
Many members have had the experience of losing submitted work because their
account became logged out for inactivity while they worked in their browser. To
circumvent this problem, we've embedded a secure, encrypted password into
many of the forms found on the site.

Even if your account has been timed or logged out, the submission will be saved.
For security, the account will not be re-logged into, only storing the one form
submitted. To continue using Writing.Com, the member will still need to log
back into the site.


Note: The forms using this new feature include: item forms, forum posting
forms, journal entry forms, interactive chapter forms and campfire forms.
