One of the best ways that our Members can help and support Writing.Com is by
sharing their own Public Portfolio with friends, relatives and associates. This assists
us in growing our community, bringing more people to Read, Rate and Review.

We wanted to make it easier and more appealing for our members to point out
Writing.Com to the people they know. For that reason, we've created an improved
referral system that allows you to receive credit for directing a visitor to ANY page
on Writing.Com!

How do I use it? At the very bottom of EVERY Writing.Com page, you'll find a new
link called Refer A Member. Just click that link and a small pop-up will provide you
with the correct referring URL to hand out. You will receive credit each time a new
visitor joins our community after first visiting that page.

We have also updated the Tell A Friend system to append the correct referring text
to the end of any URL sent by it. These improvements are sure to get your referral
number up and generate more involvement within your favorite online writing community!

Banners, Buttons and More! Don't forget: linking to Writing.Com from your own
home page, web site or offsite email signature is EASY and ENCOURAGED{/$
have an entire page dedicated to banners, buttons and the HTML needed... and they
are FREE to use! We have some very eye catching banners plus a whole section
of text links.

:: Message Forum Purging Tool ::
Now you can Purge old messages from your existing Message Forums! This new
tool is perfect for contests, general chat forums or any members who'd like to help
us free up some disk and database resources by reducing the amount of messages
in their forum.

You'll find the Purge link in the "Your Item" line of the forum's header. Once you
click the link, you'll be asked to confirm the purge and select the amount of time
for which you'd like to keep messages.

Please note: The Purge function is performed only one time. This will NOT set
your forum up for automatic purging. If you would like to purge the forum at a later
date, you will have to click the "Purge" link and repeat the process.
